Olia Tsivitanidou
Olia is a Senior EU Project Manager at GrantXpert as of April 2021.

Olia holds a BSc in Physics, a BA in Primary School Teaching, and a MA in Learning in Natural Sciences from the University of Cyprus (UCY) in Cyprus. In 2014, she completed her PhD studies in ‘Learning in Natural Sciences’ at the University of Cyprus, where she investigated student teachers’ profiles in the context of reciprocal web-based formative peer-assessment, in a digital learning environment on ecosystems.

Olia has work experience as: a) teaching and research assistant (2008-2013) at the University of Cyprus, b) teacher at the GC School of Careers (2013-2014), c) post-doctoral researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (2014 – 2015), d) visiting researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN), at Kiel, Germany (2016), and e) post-doctoral researcher (2015 – 2017) and Research Associate (2017 – 2018) at the University of Cyprus. She has been a Research Associate at the CYENS Center of Excellence during the past three years (2018 – 2021) and a Part-time Lecturer at the University of Nicosia, at the Department of Education (2021).

Olia has worked in several European funded projects during the past 13 years, including The Horizon 2020 Teaming Project ‘Centre for STEAM Education Research, Science Communication and Innovation’ (no: 763594), projects supported by FP7 ‘Assess Inquiry in Science, Technology, and Mathematics Education’ (ASSIST-ME) (grant agreement no: 321428) and Science Created by You (SCY) (grant agreement no.: 212814), and Erasmus+ projects e.g., Erasmus+ project ‘Best Practices of Pedagogical Chatbots in Higher Education’ [EDUBOTS] (2019-2022).

At the moment, she is involved in the preparation and coordination of proposals under European and National Funded Programmes, such as Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, as well as programmes initiated by the Research & Innovation Foundation in Cyprus. She also participates both as a researcher and a Project Manager in European funded projects, such as, the OLMEdu (Open Lab for the up-skilling of higher educational staff in on-line Μanagement Εducation), the ArtCRelief (Entrepreneurial Empowerment for artists, cultural and creative professionals) and the EASEWE (Entrepreneurial educAtion for Self-Employment of immigrant WomEn). These projects are funded under the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices programme.

Her interests focus on helping researchers and SMEs acquire funding from National and European Programmes that support innovation in Research, Education and Training, Policy Reform, Excellent Science, with a focus on the fields of science, STEM and STEAM education, inquiry learning and teaching, and technology-supported learning environments.
