Nikos has been working at GrantXpert since January 2023 as an EU Project Manager.
Nikos holds a BA (Hons.) in French and Russian from the University of Bristol, UK and an MSc in Political Sciences and International Relations from the University of Cyprus that he has completed in 2022. During his studies, he has acquired the languages in-depth and has developed his skills in translation, interpretation, language teaching and political theory analysis. His MSc thesis analyses the involvement of UNESCO in rebuilding the national education system of Afghanistan through a series of educational planning programmes and its contribution in supporting the capacity building of the Afghanistan Ministry of Education’s officers and staff from 2001 until 2021.
Nikos has worked in several European funded projects during the past two years, including Erasmus+ projects in the fields of media literacy, digital skills development, LGBTQ+ inclusive education, environmental education. He has also worked on an EEA and Norway Grants/Fund for Youth Employment project which focuses on strengthening the employability and the entrepreneurial skills of young people through job and entrepreneurship labs.
Nikos has gained substantial work experience during his internship at the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), assisting the Policy Support and Capacity Development in Lifelong Learning unit in identifying adult literacy and numeracy programmes around the world, to be included in the Effective Literacy and Numeracy Practices Database (LitBase) of UIL.
As an EU Project Manager at GrantXpert, Nikos is working on projects funded by the Erasmus+ programme, under Key Action 2, in the fields of vocational and education training (VET), higher education, sports and youth in the areas of physical literacy and education, STEM and entrepreneurship education, circular economy and green entrepreneurship. Being involved in these projects, Nikos contributes to the development of the entrepreneurial skills of young people, entrepreneurs, SME and start-up founders through specialized learning and training material and digital tools. Through his work, he has gained experience in project and quality management. His interests focus on peacebuilding education, non-formal education, entrepreneurship and skills development.
